Current Grant Cycle: 2018-2019
Due Sunday October 28th, 2018. Thank you for all who submitted!
At the start of each school year, the Dedham Education Foundation accepts grant proposals for projects that will enrich the educational opportunities of Dedham students in all schools and at all grade levels. The Dedham Education Foundation is now accepting grant proposals from teachers and staff at Dedham’s Public Schools.
Last year, more than $20,000 in grants were awarded by the Foundation. Foundation grants are awarded up to a maximum of $750 for individual classrooms, and larger amounts for combined applications or district-wide initiatives. The Grants Committee considers proposals requesting additional funds for projects enriching large groups of students or cooperative programs involving more than one staff member, department or school.
Qualified projects include activities designed to supplement or enrich the course of study consistent with the curriculum and for which budget funds are not available. Awards may be used for materials, supplies, equipment, educational games, speakers, admission fees, performances and expenses for projects. Grants will not be awarded for staff salaries, stipends, travel, lodging or transportation for field trips. Preference will be given to those requests that promote hands-on learning. Collaboration among staff is encouraged.
To apply for a grant, please complete the application. Answers should be clear and concise. The procedure by which the grants will be awarded is as follows:
Applications MUST be received by the Committee no later than Sunday October 28th, 2018.
All questions on the application form must be answered clearly. Be as descriptive as possible and feel free to include supporting materials.
The Grants Committee will review each application, and each application will receive equal consideration. The Dedham Education Foundation Board will vote on the Committee’s recommendations at its November meeting.
The Grants Committee may request additional information from the applicants.
The primary contact on each application will be notified as to the disposition of the application.
