Do you have an amazing idea of how to engage your students on STEM, social-emotional learning, or world languages and cultures, but you don’t have the resources to make it happen?
We are here to help support your idea!
DEF is excited to introduce two new grant opportunities available to all Dedham Public Schools and we can’t wait to see what proposals will be submitted by the deadline on April 26! Here are the details ….
Opportunity 1: Innovation Grants
In consultation with Superintendent Welch and Assistant Superintendent Kelly, DEF has identified specific areas where innovative approaches are needed to enhance student learning. DEF’s Innovation Grants will fund proposals by teachers working alone or collaboratively who offer new, hands-on, authentic STEM or social-emotional learning opportunities in the 2019-2020 year. The intention of DEF and the Dedham Public Schools is to pilot programs which have the potential to be adopted by the district and reach even more students. You can access the application here for more details: DEF Innovation Grant Application
Opportunity 2: Nancy Bradley Memorial Fund Grants
Mrs. Bradley taught French, Spanish, and Latin, and served as head of the World Language Department during her 40 year career at Dedham High School. After her passing, Nancy’s family and friends established this special fund within DEF to support innovative projects or programs in world languages or world cultures. Especially welcome would be projects that encourage interest in world languages as well as tolerance and understanding of cultures beyond the United States. We are excited to offer the first ever round of grant funding from the Nancy Bradley Memorial Fund for activities in the 2019-2020 year. You can access the application here for more details: Nancy Bradley Memorial Fund application.
